Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a pub in Bursledon.
At around 10.45pm on Monday, June 4 staff were in the office of the Fox and Hounds pub, Bursledon when three to four offenders forced open the rear door and entered the pub.
The offenders, who were wearing balaclavas and were armed with what appeared to be a handgun, went into the office and demanded the keys for the safe, before removing money from the safe.
They then left the pub on foot with a quantity of cash and headed towards nearby woods.
No one was injured.
Detective Sergeant Sally French, said: “I am appealing for anyone with any information about this incident, to come forward and speak to us.
“At the time of the robbery there were a number of staff members on the premises as well as customers who were finishing their drinks before closing time. Fortunately no-one was injured, however, the staff and customershave been left shocked and distressed by what has happened.
“I would urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area to come forward and speak to us. Did you see the offenders in the area? Did you see anyone running from the Fox and Hounds pub shortly after 11pm on Monday night? Anyone with information should contact us at the earliest opportunity to help us locate those responsible for this incident.”
