A woman has been killed in an attack at her house in Newton Mearns.
Police were called to a disturbance in Beech Avenue in the East Renfrewshire town on Tuesday night.
The body of the 39-year-old was found at the property and officers are said to be following a "definite line of inquiry''.
Forensic teams remain at the house, which has been cordoned off.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A 39-year-old woman has died following an incident at a house in Beech Avenue, Newton Mearns, on Tuesday.
"Police enquiries are continuing and officers are following a definite line of inquiry.''
