A man who sexually assaulted a woman in Glasgow's Merchant City is being hunted by police.
The 27-year-old victim was in Ingram Street at around 3.20am on Saturday when she was assaulted.
She managed to break free and sought help from a group of men across the road who then helped her to get home.
Officers now want to speak to the men to see if they have information which could help the investigation.
The suspect, who headed off towards the city centre, is described as being black, in his 20s, around 5ft 6in, with a stocky build and short black hair. He was wearing a dark-coloured jumper and jeans.
Detective Constable Vhairi MacDonald said: "We are looking at CCTV footage from in and around Merchant City and the city centre in order to gain additional information.
"From our inquiries so far, we know that the young woman was assisted by a group of perhaps five men and it's important we speak to these men as I'm sure they have information which could assist our investigation.
"I am appealing directly to them to get in touch with us as a matter of urgency so that we can trace the man responsible for this crime.''
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
