Man charged with murder in Falkirk

A man has been charged with murder in Falkirk.

Emergency services were called to a property in Westfield Street at around 11.05pm on Friday following a report of concern for the occupants.

Tomas Svezas was found injured at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service and was pronounced dead shortly after.

On Monday, a 37-year-old appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court in connection with the incident.

Zilvinas Popovas, from the town, was charged with murder and made no plea.

He has been remanded in custody, pending further examination, and is due to appear in court again at a later date.
