Gang attack leaves teenager in hospital

A teenager is in hospital after he was assaulted by a group of youths outside a train station.

Police were called to the scene outside the station in Lanark at around 9.50pm on Friday.
 
The injured 17 year-old boy was taken by ambulance to Wishaw General Hospital where he is being treated for head and facial injuries.
 
Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.
 
Police are appealing for information about the incident in the South Lanarkshire town.
