Olympic Torch Relay: Day 27 Highlights

THURSDAY 14TH JUNE (EDINBURGH - ALNWICK)


· The Torch will travel a total of 140.20 miles today

· 130 torchbearers will carry the flame

· The Olympic Torch will arrive in Berwick at 4:30pm

· Brian Tinnion, a Torchbearer from Ponteland will carry the flame into Bamburgh Castle at 6:10pm. You can read more about Brian's story here

· The Torch is due to arrive in Alnwick at 6:59pm 

· Suggested viewing points for the Torch when it reaches Alnwick:
- Bondgate Without
- Bondgate Within
- Fenkle street
- On stage at the Northumberland Torch Evening Celebration on The Pastures.


· At 7:20pm the final torchbearer of the day will carry the flame to light the cauldron at the Evening Celebration

· The Evening Celebration is taking place at Alnwick Pastures in the grounds of Alnwick Castle, starting at 5:30pm

· 12,000 people have been allocated tickets to the Alnwick Evening Celebration

· 136 miles of tarmac in Northumberland will be covered by the Torch during it's time here
