A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash near Belsay, Northumberland.
Police said the 45-year-old man was killed when his Kawasaki motorcycle left the road and collided with a road sign at around 1.55pm on Sunday (13th August).
He was taken to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary where he was pronounced dead.
The man was riding south on the A696 approaching Belsay at the time of the crash.
Police are working to establish the cause of the crash.
The road was closed for around four hours on Sunday to allow a collision investigation to take place.
