Four Rescued From Stranded Car In Morpeth

Emergency services attended and four people - two adults, two children - and two dogs were rescued by fire service officers and taken safely to land.

It happened at 2:20pm on Thursday, in a ford crossing at Bennetts Walk.

They are shaken but unhurt.

The vehicle is currently secured in the water and will be recovered when safe.

It appears the vehicle was taken by swollen water while crossing the ford - drivers are urged to use caution when crossing rivers when the water levels are high.
