Dad dies in Stockport Lamborghini Crash

A man who was treating his son to a ride in a Lamborghini for his 21st has died after the car came off the track in Stockport.

Graham Padmore, 58, suffered critical injuries when the car flipped upside down and ended up in a nearby garden. 

He was taken to hospital where he has since died, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said today. 

Mr Padmore's son suffered minor injuries in the accident and was released from hospital earlier. 

In a statement issued by GMP, Mr Padmore's family said: "Graham was a loving, doting husband and father of four to Claire, Helen, Catherine and Mark. He lived for his family and friends. He was treating his son, Mark, to a ride in a Lamborghini for his 21st birthday, which was typical of Graham, when this tragic accident occurred. He just wanted to be with his family and see them happy. We will miss him dearly but he will live with us forever in whatever we do.'' 

Police found the car on its roof in the garden of a nearby house having left the track at Woodford Aerodrome. 

No other vehicles were involved. 

Sergeant Danny Byrne from GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "The investigation into this tragic incident is still in the early stages. We are attempting to find out the full facts of what happened that day and have several lines of inquiry to follow. My thoughts are with Graham's family, who are being supported by specially trained officers, and what they must be going through at this difficult time.''
