Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in Leicester on Monday.

The pair - aged 22 and 23 - were detained after armed officers executed warrants at addresses in Vancouver Road and Edmonton Road on Wednesday (17th July) morning.

Both men remain in custody and enquiries are ongoing.

Police had been called to a restaurant in Upper Brown Street at around 11.10pm on Monday by East Midlands Ambulance Service and found two 19-year-old men were being treated for stab wounds.

It was reported there'd been a fight and the suspects had left the scene before emergency services arrived.

One man was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary and the other to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Their injuries were not life-threatening and they have both since been discharged.

Police would still like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Upper Brown Street on Monday evening and who has not yet come forward.
