97 people are at risk of losing their home every day in the East Midlands.
Charity, Shelter, have told Capital that equates to 1 in every 126 households.
Nottingham has the highest house repossession rate in our region and makes the top 20 list in the whole of the UK.
The charity reckons housing costs are leaving more and more families close to financial problems, with little or no savings to fall back on.
Adam's Story
Adam, a support planner for homeless charity Framework in Nottingham was homeless for more than 10 years:
'I sort of fell in with the wrong crowd and got asked to leave the family home.
'From then, I spent 11 years basically living at various temporary addresses here [Nottingham], Holland and London.
'I was suffering from chronic substance misuse issues, I was a crack cocaine and heroin addict up until being sentenced in 2005 for drug offences.'
