Police are investigating after a man was shot in the arm in Birmingham
The shooting is believed to have happened in Bridgeburn Road in Northfield at around 4pm.
The victim, who suffered a serious injury to his arm, initially attempted to drive himself to hospital but was able to flag down a passing ambulance in Gibbins Road at around 4.15pm.
Officers have launched a major investigation into what happened and are particularly keen to trace two men who are believed to have fled the Bridgeburn Road scene. The pair are said to have run down the road and then drove off in a blue coloured hatchback car.
The 21-year-old man remains in hospital today where his condition is described as stable.
Detective Sergeant Martin Richardson, from Force CID, said: "This was a really nasty attack and the man was lucky not to suffer more serious injuries.
"This is a fast-moving investigation and our information so far suggests that two men ran from the scene.
"We'd ask anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened or saw anything suspicious to come forward and contact us as soon as possible."
