Marcus Marcussen pleaded not guilty to 28 counts of indecent assault and two of indecency with a child during a pre-trial hearing at Birmingham Crown Court.
Marcussen is alleged to have carried out the offences against 14 boys while employed as a PE teacher at Ilmington Road comprehensive school in Weoley Castle.
The pensioner of Rochford, near Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire, was allowed to sit in the well of the court and leaned on a walking stick as he entered his pleas to the indictment.
Judge James Burbidge QC granted Marcussen conditional bail to appear for trial at the same court on January 19th.
