A pensioner's daughter has told Capital in her view her father was killed by a Birmingham man who's been sentenced for running him over and causing serious injuries last year.
Janet Turner's 91 year-old dad John died in hospital 3 months after the crash in Sutton Coldfield last Novermber.
27 year old Gurpreet Sandhu from Handsworth was driving at almost double the speed limit at the time.
He was jailed for 3 years, but it couldn't be proven medically if the crash caused the pensioner's death.
Janet says she find that difficult to accept.
She said: "I honestly don't know how I feel, we're not going to get dad back.
"I know that he [Gurpreet Sandhu] is going to loose his freedom.
"He will have to live with this knowing that indirectly my father lost his life.
"They could not do anything for him and dad did not have the strength to fight it so I know in my heart that he died as a result of the car accident ...the collision."
"When he was conscious he was in excruciating pain and that was soul destroying to watch somebody who had been so fit, so well and so strong in that position.
"He lived life to the full and that was taken away from us."
