Body Found In Monsall

The body of a man's been found at a house in Monsall.

Police were called to at house on Upper Monsall Street At about 7.45pm last night, Tuesday 10 January, after receiving a report of a sudden death.

Emergency services came and the man, believed to be 46-years-old, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is believed he may have been the victim of an assault on the previous day, Monday, 9 January 2012.

A post mortem is expected to take place later today to establish the cause of death.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Roters, of North Manchester CID, said: "This inquiry is at a very early stage but I want to reassure the community that we will investigate this thoroughly.

"At this stage it is unclear exactly what has caused this man’s death, but we are working to establish the circumstances leading up to it."
