A 41 year old man is recovering after being attacked by two other men in West Kirby.
Merseyside Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault near Westbourne Road and Dunraven Road, West Kirby in the early hours of Tuesday morning (16thOctober).
It reportedly happened just after midnight opposite the entrance to Aston Park at the Westbourne Road/Dunraven Road junction when a 41 year old man was walking alone.
It's claimed he was grabbed around the neck by two men described as both being white, around 6ft tall and of slim build. He was then reportedly slashed multiple times to his face, causing superficial cuts.
Detective Inspector Paul Parry said: “Luckily the victim wasn’t seriously harmed and none of his personal property was stolen, but he has been left feeling uneasy and concerned for his personal safety.
“During the attack, the victim remembers hearing shouting from a nearby house, which we believe caused the offenders to make off. If that was you or you were in the area this morning and remember seeing someone acting suspiciously, please get in touch.
“This was an unprovoked attack and we want to locate the offenders before something like this happens again. Please call 101, DM @MerPolCC or report anonymously to @CrimestoppersUK quoting crime ref: 18400001824 if you think you can help with our investigations.”
