Woman Jailed For Harassing Family

A woman has been sentenced to eight weeks in jail for harassing a family on Facebook by claiming to be their daughter who went missing in Germany in 1981.

Donna Wright, who is 33 and from Spennymoor in County Durham, admitted sending messages to the family of Katrice Lee in Hampshire.

The two-year-old went missing from a shop near an Army base in Paderborn where Katrice's father was serving.

Wright appeared for sentencing via a videolink, amid concerns for her mental health. 

After claiming to be the girl, Wright continued to harass the family even after a DNA test proved she was not.

Katrice's sister Natasha Lee, 39, wrote a victim statement which described Wright as ``pure evil''.

She said: ``Every day is like a whopping nightmare for me. I am in an elite club that no-ones wants to be a member of. My sister has been missing for 31 years.''

Katrice's mother Sharon, from Gosport and father Richard, from Hartlepool, believe their daughter was snatched and could still be alive.
