Police are investigating an attack involving a gang of up to 20 people in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight.
The group went up to the 26-year-old woman from Ventnor in the Spring Hill area of the town sometime between half past midnight and 1.15am on Saturday, January 15, 2011.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries to her head, face, back and ribs.
Investigating officer PC Rob Quick said:
“This was a nasty violent assault by a group of young people against a woman who was fortunate not to be more seriously
injured.
“Officers have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries in Ventnor this week, and we remain keen to hear from any witnesses who might remember seeing a disturbance in the Spring Hill area of Ventnor during the early hours of Saturday
morning.”
