Woman Assaulted And Robbed In Portsmouth

Police in Portsmouth are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted and robbed in the car park to the rear of Lake Road health centre. It happened sometime between 5.30 and 5.35am on Sunday, January 1.

The 37-year-old woman was walking home after being out celebrating New Year’s Eve in Guildhall Walk. She had stopped to rest when she was approached by a man who made inappropriate comments towards her before assaulting herand stealing her handbag.
 
The woman did not sustain any visible injuries.
 
The stolen bag contained an iphone 4.
 
The man is described as:
 
Having dark skin
Approximately 5ft 7ins tall
Medium build
Short dark hair
Dark stubble
Wearing an v-neck white t-shirt, white ¾ length shorts with a light check pattern
Foreign accent
