A woman's been sexually assaulted in a Southampton park while walking home from a night out.
Detectives are appealing for information after the alleged attack in East Park in the early hours of Sunday morning (28th April).
A 25-year-old woman has reported to police that she was walking home after a night out when she was grabbed by two men who indecently assaulted her. The victim described the two men as tall, black and in their early thirties. One had short hair, the other was described as having a short beard.
Detective Inspector Phil Scrase, said:
"The victim has told us that she was attacked sometime between midnight and 2am on Sunday morning in a section of the park near the junction of the Charlotte Place roundabout with the Jurys Inn on it and Brunswick Place.
"I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area between those times and thinks they saw anything suspicious to contact us.
"I understand that reports of incidents like this can cause people to worry about their personal safety; I would reiterate our usual advice to people travelling home from a night out which is to use a licensed taxi for their journey or to walk home with friends and keep to well lit areas."
Anyone with any information should contact Det Insp Scrase at Southampton Central police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
