Police are investigating a brutal road rage attack near Winchester - where a man's car door was repeatedly slammed against his wrist.
At some time between 7.15am and 7.25am on Monday (30 March) the victim, aged in his early 60s, was driving his silver BMW between Twyford Village and Hockley Golf Club.
A dark coloured saloon vehicle, believed to be a 52 plate Jaguar, overtook the BMW as they were heading from Twyford Village towards the M3 junction at Hockley.
The driver of the Jaguar then stopped the car and blocked the road. The Jaguar driver approached the BMW driver who was trying to get out of his car. The driver of the Jaguar then repeatedly slammed the BMW's driver door against the victim's wrist. The offender then returned to his vehicle and drove off towards the M3 junction.
The man police want to speak to is described as: white, aged in his late 40s to early 50s, 5ft 11ins, slim build and wearing a black hat and dark clothing.
The victim sustained a broken wrist as a result of the attack, requiring an operation.
Detective Constable Paul Harfield, said:
"The road was busy at the time of the attack, and a queue of cars had built up behind the BMW. We are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, to come forward and speak to us.
"We're also keen to speak to the driver of a lorry who was heading towards Twyford from the M3, who stopped and spoke to the victim. I would urge anyone with information to get in touch as soon as possible."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Det Con Harfield at Basingstoke police station by calling 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
