Two Men Arrested Over Stabbing

Police in Waterlooville have arrested a 26-year-old man and a 25-year-old man from Havant in connection with a serious assault that happened in Milton Road, Waterlooville on Friday, January 21.

Both are bailed on suspicion of GBH until February 22 (2011).

At about 7.30pm a 31-year-old man was walking along the road when he was approached by two men, one who punched him in the face. The other stabbed him in the stomach with a small kitchen knife, leaving a superficial cut that required treatment
at Queen Alexandra hospital.

Detective Constable Emma Cooke said: "We are still keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident so we can establish the exact circumstances of what happened. This is a very serious incident that is thankfully very rare. We are keen
to make sure those responsible do not get the chance to re-offend."
