Police are now in a position to release the identities of the rider and pillion passenger who died following a collision on the A339 between Basingstoke and Alton on Saturday.
Julian Farley, 25, and Jessica Ellis, 23, from Tudor Crescent, Portsmouth sustained fatal injuries when their Triumph Speed Flight motorcycle collided with a road sign.
The young couple were riding towards Alton when the collision occurred at 6.30pm. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are investigating what caused the collision, which occurred as the couple rode behind a black Nissan Micra and an unidentified blue vehicle.
The driver of the Nissan, a 17-year-old boy from Alton was uninjured.
The blue vehicle continued on its journey, possibly oblivious to the collision. Police are now appealing for the driver to come forward as they may hold vital information whichcould assist with the investigation.
A 17-year-old boy from Alton has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has been bailed until May 3, pending further enquiries
Anyone who witnessed the collision, the two vehicles involved prior to it, or a blue vehicle on the A339 at that time, is asked to call PC Nick Barman at Farnborough Roads PolicingUnit on 101, quoting Operation Apsley.
