Two Arrested After Man's Ear Bitten Off
Two men have been arrested by police investigating an assault in Portsmouth in which a man had his ear partly bitten off.
The 20-year-old and an 18-year-old were detained in connection with the assault on the seafront last Friday.
The younger was questioned on suspicion of wounding with intent, the older of the two on suspicion of attempted wounding with intent.
The victim, 36, was sat in a shelter between the life guard station and the Pyramids around 5pm, Friday, April 8.
He challenged a group of teenagers who were acting rowdily.
One of them punched him and bit the top of his left ear before running off.
DC Dave Anderson from Portsmouth CID said:
“Both suspects have been bailed until July 5 pending further enquiries.
“I’m continuing my appeal for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who was on Portsmouth seafront near the Pyramids around 5pm on Friday.”
