53-year-old Nicholas Boeree from Portmore in Lymington was travelling southbound on his black Yamaha FJR motorcycle when he was involved in a head-on collision with a Volvo HGV travelling in the opposite direction.
It happened on the A337 Lymington Road, Brockenhurst on Wednesday 21st March.
Mr Boeree died at the scene. He was a consultant spinal surgeon at Southampton General Hospital and the Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital.
Paying tribute to Mr Boeree, his family said:
“Nick was an extraordinarily talented surgeon, a dedicated professional and loving husband and father.
“He was a man of many interests and passions: not only a keen and experienced motorcyclist but also a qualified pilot, accomplished sailor and scuba diver.
“He also enjoyed horse riding, archery, astronomy, hiking, cycling and, above all, spending time with his family, by whom he will be very sorely missed.
“His death is a devastating blow, not only to his friends and family, but to those with whom he worked and the many patients whose lives he changed for the better.”
