Police are warning motorists to expect traffic congestion in the Winchester area this weekend as up to 10,000 people are expected to attend a music festival at Matterley Bowl.
The Boomtown Fair is taking place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week. It's a music, arts and family festival featuring street performers and bands.
Officers are advising local residents and commuters to expect delays and congestion in and around the Winchester area throughout the weekend, but especially during the evening period.
Chief Inspector Jason Kenny said:
“We have been working closely with the organisers of this event and also staff at Matterley Bowl to ensure we keep disruption to local residents and other members of the public, to a minimum.
“We would ask people to allow extra time for their journeys and report any problems to us via 101.”
If local residents have any concerns, they are advised to contact their Safer Neighbourhoods Teams on 101.
