Thieves broke into a New Forest household waste and recycling centre and took sacks of second-hand clothing.
The clothing was taken between 4.15pm Monday and 6.45am Tuesday, November 26 and 27, from the New Forest District Council site at Milford Road, next to New Milton Sand and Ballast.
Padlocks on gates to the recycling site and the adjacent Veolia Energy site were cut and the padlocks to containers were cut.
Missing are a large green 100kg sack of clothing and two smaller washing holdall style bags with zips. These large holdalls contained vintage clothing.
The combined weight of the missing clothing would be at least 150kg, and police believe transport would have been required to remove it from the site.
Thieves also entered the Veolia Energy site, but took nothing.
Lymington PC David Barnes is appealing for information about people or vehicles near the area of Milford Road, Lymington, late Monday afternoon, Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
''This is an isolated area, but the site entrance is from the main A337 Milford Road, and the containers are visible from the road. We need to know about any people or vehicles seen at the time, because the site should have been locked and no people should have been near it,'' PC Barnes said.
Police also need to know if bags or holdalls like those described are found.
Anyone with information should contact PC Barnes at Lymington on 101.
