Student Assaulted In Southampton

Detectives are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in an alleyway on Tennyson Road, near to the junction with Westridge Road, in Portswood

At around 10.20am yesterday (October 12), the 20-year-old student had left her home address and was walking along Tennyson Road, when she was pushed into the alleyway by a man.

The man pulled at her clothing, but the woman pushed him away and he ran off towards Westridge Road.

The woman was not injured, but was shaken by the incident.

The man is described as:

-Asian

-Aged in his late 40s to early 50s

-Around 5ft 10ins tall

-Stocky build

-Dark black hair, receding and cropped short

-Wearing a dark jacket, which was possible dark green, that was undone and had a gold coloured zip, and dark trousers

 

Detective Sergeant Gareth Jones said:

"We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who can help us identify this man. The incident was shocking for the woman involved and we are committed to finding the man responsible as soon as possible. If you think you know who it is please contact the police immediately."
