Police are looking for two men who threatened staff with a hammer and a knife in a robbery at a Royal British Legion club near Chichester.
Just after midnight on Tuesday 4 June, two staff, a man and woman both in their thirties, were leaving the club in Selsey High Street after locking up, when they were approached by the two men as they were getting into their car at the rear of the club.
The men threatened them with a hammer and a knife. The couple were forced to go back inside and open the safe, from which the men took several thousand pounds and made off. No vehicle was seen.
The couple were very shocked but were not hurt.
The suspects are both described as white and of skinny build. One wore a black crash helmet and a burgundy top, and spoke with a Scottish accent. The other man had facial stubble, a gaunt face, and wore a grey top with the hood pulled up.
Detective Constable Della Squires said:
"This was a frightening experience for the couple and it is fortunate that they were not hurt. If anyone saw suspicious activity in Selsey last night, or has any other information, please call us on 101 quoting serial 0007 of 4/6.
