After seven years, the Southsea Show is back in 2013 and promises to be the big family weekend.
The best aspects of the old show are being revived, with the addition of new, exciting entertaining elements such as theatre, music, and dance.
Southsea Common has been transformed into a funpacked showground with the Big Top Tent being the focal point.
There will be performances by the likes of Chesney Hawkes, Cirque Bijou (who performed at the launch of the 2012 Olympics), Danny Oliver as MJ and the magical Carl and Dave illusionists plus a live 'Street Dance Crew Battle'.
The Tom Prince Cancer Trust Stage will feature the very best of local cover bands during both days and there will also be gardening demonstrations, competitions, community stalls, carousels, and bumper cars, as well as a petting zoo, sports activities, arts, crafts, and creative making workshops, dog shows, a cider bus, a milkshake wagon, and a whole host of food stalls. Visitors will have the opportunity to browse the wares of local traders whilst buskers provide entertainment in the Market Marquee.
A Beer Tent and Real Ale Bar filled with folk, bluegrass, country, and roots music will be pitched up for the whole weekend, during which Carnival Costume workshops take place to prepare visitors for the participatory parade at 2.00pm on Sunday afternoon.
