Detectives in Bitterne are investigating an arson attack outside a block of flats in Vanguard Road, Southampton.
About midnight, Saturday to Sunday, October 5 – 6, a suitcase was set alight near the front door of the block of flats.
One of the residents of the flats is a 21-year-old woman who had earlier reported receiving abusive and threatening phone calls and Facebook messages, including a threat to kill her.
Detective Constable Tom Hewitt is appealing for information about the fire:
“If you know anything about this fire, or if you were in the area and saw anything suspicious, please contact Bitterne CID on 101 and ask to speak to me.”
Four Southampton women have been arrested and bailed, pending further enquiries, until November 29. Three are 18 and one is 23.
