Rock Thrown From M3 Bridge Hits Car

Police are looking for the person who threw a rock from a bridge over the M3 in Hampshire, which hit a car.

The stone went through the sunroof of a Renault Megane being driven by a 27-year-old Bournemouth man as it passed under Chilworth Road A27 at 8pm on January 4, 2013.

Though it only caused damage to the car the consequences could have been much worse with incidents like this having been fatal in the past.

Officers are warning people not to throw items off bridges as it is highly dangerous and it could cause a serious accident. Anyone who does it will also find themselves have to face the consequences
of their actions.

They are also appealing for any information about the incident on January 4 to help them   identify those responsible. They are asked to contact PC Mike Duke at Eastleigh Police Station on 101
or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
