Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Southampton in which a motorcyclist died.
The crash, involving a moped and a silver Ford Fusion car happened in Stoneham Lane at 8.30pm on Monday 15 August.
The moped, ridden by a man in his 20s, was travelling along Stoneham Lane from Trojans Sports Ground towards Bassett Green Road when, for reasons yet to be established, the bike crossed into the opposite side of the road and was in collision with the car.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the rider but he was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, a 53-year-old Eastleigh woman, was shaken but uninjured.
Stoneham Lane was closed for five hours to allow investigators to examine the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw a moped in that area shortly before the collision, to contact PC Cheryl Silverlock at Totton Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Kinghorn.
Alternatively, call the Crimestoppers charity line on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
