Rapper Arrested On Suspicion Of Rape

Former I'm A Celebrity contestant Aggro Santos has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in Chichester.

The 22-year-old Brazilian-born rapper was held and questioned by police following a university gig.

The alleged incident is said to have happened at the Ship Hotel in the city in the early hours of Saturday.

Santos, whose first name is Yuri, strongly denies the allegations, his solicitor said.

Santos and a 20-year-old man who was also arrested were freed on police bail until June 20, pending further inquiries.

A Sussex Police spokesman said:

"Two men, aged 20 and 22, both from London, were arrested on suspicion of rape following an incident at the Ship Hotel in Chichester in the early hours of Saturday morning.

"They were later bailed until June 20.''

Santos's debut single Candy, featuring former Pussycat Dolls singer Kimberly Wyatt, reached number five in the UK charts last year.

But he became more popularly known following his appearance in last year's series of ITV's reality game show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in which he made it to the last six.

Santos's solicitor, Phil Smith, of Tuckers Solicitors, said:

"At this stage, this is purely an allegation which has been, and is, vehemently denied by my client.''
