Portsmouth: Extra Patrols After 100 Cars Vandalised

Extra police patrols are being carried out on a road in Portsmouth where more than 100 cars were vandalised.

It happened just before 8am on Sunday 10 July, when a man ran along the road, shouting in a foreign language, scratching cars. He ran into Copnor Road and headed north.

Officers left letters on damaged vehicles, asking the owners to contact police.

Local Neighbourhood Policing Team Sergeant, Iain Clancy said: "The local Neighbourhood Policing Team is leading the investigation, which has included house to house and CCTV enquiries in the area.

"There is nothing that has come to light so far as part of the investigation to suggest this area has been deliberately targeted however additional visible patrols have been arranged in Queens Road and surrounding area.

"If you have any information to assist us in finding the person responsible for the vandalism, please contact us on 101 quoting reference 44160256465."
