Portsmouth Amusement Arcade Robbed
Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery at an amusement arcade in Portsmouth.
It happened at Playland Amusements in Commercial Road at between 4.30pm and 5pm on Saturday October the 8th.
Two men aged in their 20s entered the arcade and, after playing on the slot machines for a short time, entered the staff office and removed a large quantity of money from the safe.
A member of arcade staff was assaulted when she challenged the pair as they attempted to run out onto Commercial Road. She was not seriously injured by shaken by the incident.
The men are described as both white, aged in theirs 20s.
One was approximately 6ft 2ins, of skinny build with short light brown hair. He was wearing a light-coloured top, and dark trousers.
The second man was of medium build with short, dark hair, 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins and wearing a dark coloured jacket. Both men had local accents.
DC Kristy O’Brien of Portsmouth CID, said:
“The two males entered an office that is off limits to the public, helped themselves to cash that was in the safe and left using the front door of the arcade.
“Commercial Road was very busy at it was rush hour and people were waiting at the bus stops.
"I would appeal to anyone who may have seen the men or believes they know their identities to get in contact with us as soon as possible.”
