Police Investigate Attempted Abduction
Police are investigating a suspected attempted abduction in Southampton of a 17-year-old girl.
The girl was walking along a footpath which runs between Middle Road and St Monica Road, Sholing, Southampton on Good Friday, April 6 at approximately 10.50am when a man approached her.
The man grabbed her arm and tried to get her to come with him but she managed to break free and run off to a friend’s house. A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed until on Wednesday May 2.
Police are appealing for witnesses who were in the area at that time and one man in particular who spoke with the girl immediately after the incident.
He was walking his Border Collie dog along the footpath and offered his assistance. Police would particularly like to speak to this vital witness.
