Up to half a million pounds worth of jewellery, clocks and silverware has been seized by a police from a shop in Chichester.
On Saturday morning, 6th April, officers executed a search warrant at Ebonys Jewellers in South Street, looking for suspected stolen property. Most of the stock of the shop was seized during Saturday and Sunday, and is being examined in order to establish where it has come from. No arrests have been made at this stage.
As part of the investigation police have now set up a special website with photos of all the items on display .
There are more than 1000 items including jewellery, silverware and clocks, with an estimated potential total value of between a quarter of a million and half a million pounds.
Sergeant Jason Vickers said;
"We like to re-unite owners with their property wherever possible and are inviting anyone who has been burgled in Central and West Sussex, East Hampshire or South West Surrey in the past 12 months to log on and have a look.
