Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint by a passenger in Southampton.
A man got into the taxi on Wilton Avenue at around 4am on Wednesday 29 January and asked the 33-year-old driver to collect his wife from Milton Road to take her to hospital.
When the driver pulled up in Milton Road the man demanded cash from the driver and held a knife in front of his face and threatened him.
He then made off with a quantity of money on a bicycle that was nearby. The suspect rode along Milton Road towards Bedford place.
He is described as white and he is said to have been ‘nicely’ spoken.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Detective Constable Louise Daniels at Shirley Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
