Hampshire Police are looking for two men, who forced their way into a woman's flat and grabbed her.

At around 7.10pm on Monday 16 March, the 25-year-old victim was at home at her flat on Rookcliffe Way in Milford on Sea.

Two masked men entered the residential flats and knocked on the victim’s door.  When she answered the door, the two men entered the property.  One of the men restrained the woman while the other man searched the premises.

The victim managed to fight back and alert a neighbour.  Both men left the address empty handed.

The men were wearing balaclavas and gloves. One man was wearing a black hoody, was 5ft 9ins to 6ft, of skinny build and aged between 25 and 30.  The other man was wearing a dark coloured hoody and was of stocky build.

The woman suffered some soreness to her leg as a result of falling over when she was restrained.

Detective Constable Dal Andrews, said:

“We suspect this was potentially a case of mistaken identity and that the offenders were intending to target someone else; most likely someone known to them.  This was a distressing and unprovoked incident on a woman who was alone in her own property. She bravely fought back and managed to bite and scratch the man who was restraining her.

“Do you know anyone who has had any recent scratch or bite marks to their hands and face?  Did you see any vehicles in the area of Rookcliffe Way and Dela Ware Road?  Did you see any men wearing dark hooded clothing leaving this block of flats?  I would urge anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant you may think it is, to contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Det Con Andrews at Southampton police station by calling 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
