Detectives in Southampton are appealing for witnesses after three men burst into a flat and robbed a man of his laptop and attacked him.
It happened on Westridge Road on Monday, May 16 between 9.20 pm - 9.50 pm when the 29-year-old resident answered a knock at his door.
The three men threatened him, punched him in the head several times and kicked him. They then stole his laptop and ran off, after someone in one of the other nearby flats shouted out that the police were on their way.
As part of their investigation into the robbery officers are now looking into why the man was targeted as they do not believe it was a random incident.
Detectives have already spoken to witnesses who live near to the flat but want to speak with anyone else who was in the area and who may have seen the three men running from the scene or seen anyone in the area around that
time acting suspiciously.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact Detective Constable Stephen Hicks at Bitterne CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111
