Man Killed On A272 Named
Police have named the driver killed when his car crashed at on the A272 at West Meon Hut on Tuesday, January the 24th.
45-year-old Peter Lonsdale from Gosport was killed instantly when his red Citroen Xantia collided with a tree shortly before 5am.
It happened on the A272 at Kitts Lane, east of Bramdean. The stretch was closed to West Meon Hut crossroads for 11 hours to allow the vehicle to be recovered and the road to be cleared of debris.
Senior Investigating Officer, Sergeant Wayne Voller, said:
"I’d urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision to make contact with us as soon as possible.”
Witnesses to the crash are asked to contact Sgt Voller on 101, quoting Operation Gainsborough.
