Police in Portsmouth are appealing for information following a fire at a flat in Festing Grove, Southsea.
The fire occurred sometime between 1.30 and 2.30am on Saturday, October 8.
The occupant of the flat, a 37-year-old man, had to be evacuated via a window. He was treated for smoke inhalation at Queen Alexandra Hospital.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.
DC Jim Garrett of Fratton CID said:
“We are treating this fire as suspicious.
"At this stage it is not clear how or why the fire started.
"We would appeal to anyone who may have any information about suspicious people or activity in the area on Friday night and the early hours of Saturday morning to contact us with as much information as possible."
