Man Charged Over Christmas Day Murder
A man has been charged following the murder of a Lithuanian man in Beach Road, Littlehampton, on Christmas Day.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has this evening authorised Sussex Police to charge Vaides Juras, age 33, of Beach Road, Littlehampton, with the murder of Bronius Juras, age 38, of Bayford Road, Littlehampton. he will be appearing at Worthing Magistrates Court on Thursday 29th.
Officers were called at about 9pm on Christmas Day after the victim received a stab wound at an address in Beach Road. A post-mortem revealed that he died of a single stab wound to his heart.
Seven of the eight people - five men and three women - who remained in custody this morning, Wednesday 28 December, have this afternoon now been released without charge.
Three other men had been released overnight on police bail for four weeks whilst enquiries continue. A twelfth person, a 32-year-old local woman, released on bail on Tuesday morning 27 December, has subsequently been stood down from her bail.
