Man Beaten Unconscious In Southampton

Two men arrested in connection with a serious assault in Southampton have been released without charge.
Officers were called out around 5am on Saturday 21 September, to reports that a man had collapsed on the ground on Standford Street in the St Mary's area.
He was taken unconscious to Southampton General Hospital with a serious head injury and remains there in a stable condition.
An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and robbery, but have now both been released without charge.
Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses and would like to hear from a man and a woman who were seen walking along Chapel Road a couple of hours before the assault. They spoke with a taxi driver who had broken down.
It's believed they may have witnessed the assault or seen the offenders in the area.
