Police appeal following fatal road traffic collision in Portsmouth Police are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at the junction of Western Road and Portsbridge Roundabout, Cosham in Portsmouth.
The single vehicle collision took place at approximately 9.40pm on Sunday, July 15. A blue BMW 3 series left the road near the underpass at the junction of Western Road and the Portsbridge Roundabout and was located on its roof.
A passenger in the vehicle, a 42-year-old man from Portsmouth, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 24-year-old woman passenger from Portsmouth sustained serious but not life threatening injuries and was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old man from Portsmouth, sustained minor hand injuries which were also treated at Queen Alexandra Hospital. This man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or may have seen the vehicle before or afterwards to contact police.
