Malaria Nurse Trial Adjourned
The trial of a nurse who went missing sparking an international search because it was feared he had malaria has been adjourned.
35-year-old Matthew Lloyd from Southampton, denies assault charges relating to a 20-year-old woman who was walking home from work in Southampton on August 21 last year when an attack is alleged to have taken place.
Recorder Stuart Jones QC adjourned the case on Wednesday June the 15th after hearing legal argument. A jury was not sworn in.
Lloyd was granted bail until the next hearing on a date to be fixed.
Lloyd was undergoing a clinical trial to find a cure for the disease in Oxford when he failed to make an appointment last October.
