Knifepoint Robberies: Two More Charged

Two more people have been charged in connection with a recent series of armed robberies in Southampton.

Sid Pumford, 31, of Sullivan Road in the city, has been charged with four counts of conspiracy to rob and two counts of use of an offensive weapon.

Charlotte Brown, 18, of Redcote Close, Southampton, is charged with four counts of conspiracy to rob.

Both will appear before Southampton Magistrates Court on Thursday 11th April.

It follows a series of four robberies, at Costa Coffee, Antelope Park, Bursledon Road, at 6.30am, Friday 5th April; Thornhill Newsagent, Thornhill Park Road, 6.40am on Sunday 7th April; Ladbroke, Butts Road at 7.15pm the same day; then Grande Wines, Thornhill Park Road at 9.40pm.

One man was charged with the robbery at Grande Wines. Victor Lindsay, 53, of Linacre Road, Southampton, has already appeared in court. He's remanded in custody to re-appear on 30th April at Southampton Crown Court.

A woman, 18, and a man, 26, who were also arrested in connection with the robberies were bailed until June 10th while enquiries continue.
