Man's Jaw Broken In Petersfield Assault

Police are looking for two men who attacked a man in Petersfield, breaking his jaw.

It happened between 1am and 1.50am on Saturday 1 June on Station Road opposite the White Rose Volkswagen garage.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, was assaulted from behind by two unknown men, resulting in a fractured jaw.

The suspects are described as white men in their 20s. They were 6ft to 6ft 4 tall, slim to average build and were wearing dark hoodies.

Detective Constable Tony Flannagan from Alton CID said:

"This was a nasty attack which resulted in the victim requiring surgery for his injuries.

"I would like to hear from anyone who was out and about in Petersfield town centre in the early hours of Saturday, June 1 and may have witnessed this incident.

"I'd particularly like to speak to a man who was seen walking in the same area shortly before the assault as he may have some relevant information."
