Man Due In Court Over Isle Of Wight Murder
Police investigating the murder of a woman at an address in St John’s Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight have charged a man with murder.
51-year-old Deborah Morris of St John’s Road, Ryde was found dead at her home address shortly after 1.30am on Friday, May 25.
A post mortem examination conducted on Friday, May 25 confirmed that Mrs Morris died as a result of multiple stab wounds.
Deborah Morris’s family have issued the following statement: "She was a caring, loving, giving and devoted Mother, Grandma, Daughter, Wife and Friend".
The family have asked that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
53-year-old Rory Morris of St John’s Road, Ryde has been charged with murder.
Tim Cole, Senior District Crown Prosecutor for East Wessex said: “I have authorised Hampshire police to charge Rory Morris, 53, with the murder of Deborah Morris who died from stab wounds at her home address at St Johns Road Ryde, Isle of Wight. The decision was taken in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors, following a careful review of the file of evidence provide to me by the police.
The defendant will appear at the Isle of Wight magistrates Court on the Monday, May 28 2012.”
